Opening Reception: Ana Vojnovic – Walls Are Not Walls
November 28 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
Join us for the opening of the Massy Gallery’s newest exhibition, Ana Vojnovic’s “Walls Are Not Walls”!
The opening reception will begin at 7 pm on November 28 in the Massy Gallery (upstairs at 229 E Georgia St). The show will be exhibiting through the end of the year.
Composed of radically altered digital photography, the exhibition “responds to the overwhelming recurrence of urban rebuilding in our era by posing a philosophical-political question: how is our sensibility affected when the energy, intensity and the mutability of ‘outside’ slips inevitably through our senses to ‘inside’ our self-awareness?”
Ana Vojnovic (Vancouver, Canada) works as an educator, artist and a lecturer. Her work is an interdisciplinary response to urban conditions, and questions of how built/designed environments affect and condition human perception, our responses to designed circumstances and the ways in which we engage with each other.
This event is taking place on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tseil-Waututh Nations.
Accessibility information: the gallery is currently only accessible by a flight of stairs.
